Milwaukee Last Night, Kenosha/Racine Tonight

Last night, Deon and I ran the Milwaukee Action Training at Plymouth United Church of Christ.

Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures, but the dining room of the church, where we held the training, was packed with all types of people from Milwaukee and surrounding areas. In attendance were several members of Plymouth UCC, students, social workers, lawyers, and business folks, and many parents and friends of gay and lesbian people. There were also a couple of people from Michigan and Ohio--states that have passed civil unions and marriage bans--and they talked about how seeing the ban's negative impacts in their home states, motivated them further to defeat the one we're fighting in Wisconsin.

It's always so invigorating to get out of the office and into a space filled with enthusiastic, impassioned people who are ready to roll up their sleeves and do what it takes to defeat the ban.

Tonight Josh and Talia will be leading a training at UW-Parkside in Kenosha. There's still time to register if you're interested in attending.
