A New "Study" on the Children of Same-Sex Parents

Paul Cameron has a new “study” that shows “ A third of homosexuals’ children become homosexual.”

He fails to cite the research for the study. Instead he offers this whopper of a statement: “We expect children to be confused when a father decides to pretend he’s a woman and demand that his family participate in his charade.”

Huh?

Actually, the whole statement is just so over-the-top you'll have to read it for yourself.

If 23 were gay and 25 were straight, what were the other 29?

I like how Cameron's statement talks about "3 (17%) of 18 sons of gays were currently homosexual. At least 25 (32%) were currently heterosexual." "Currently"? As if it's like "Oh, I feel like being hetro today".

The only way that I could see gay parents having more gay children is because they've adopted the gay kids from foster care that the straight parents have beat the crap out of and tossed out of their houses.

Of course he has cited research. He has none. He is not a scientist and his research is not scientific in any way.

He *is* one heck of a propagandist.

I meant to say he has *no* cited research.

Wow. Like I really believe this "study". It's clearly slander. And you can't expect a sample size of 77 to work well in terms of scientifically validity.

Come on. Especially since I consider homosexuality a genetic predisposition, it doesn't matter, the adoptive parents really aren't doing anything anyways. And so what if a higher percentage was gay. It doesn't matter because gay adoption is a great thing and provides a loving, accepting home for children.

The "dataset" used for his research is from secondary sources. I know because he used a book I wrote, FAMILIES LIKE MINE, and two other books. None of the books were written with the intent to be analyzed regarding the sexual orientation of the grown children. (Hence the reason that his percentages don't add up to 100% -- based on the focus of my research, sexual orientation was not always reported because it often didn't matter in the context of the points the interviewees were making.)

The press release fails to mention the sources Cameron used, because anyone could then look up the books and see how faulty his research really is.

I am spreading the word on my blog about the truth behind his "facts."
