Medford Star News Opposes Ban
The Medford Star News became the latest newspaper to editorialize against the ban. Here's an excerpt:
At its worst, the amendment as it currently is proposed will have long-term negative impact not only on the gay and lesbian community, but for others who live in long-term relationships without benefit of marriage. On November 7, voters will have the opportunity to use common sense to vote down the ill-conceived amendment.
We're hearing lots of other weekly newspapers have been writing about this issue. Just last week, the Mt. Horeb Mail featured an in-depth front-page story exploring local reactions to the ban. (Unfortunately, it's not online.) You may remember, other small papers like the Mineral Point Democrat Tribune and the Jefferson County Daily Union have also featured coverage.
