This past Sunday, Charlie Sykes and his guests discussed the civil unions and marriage ban on Sykes' TV program.
It was a very interesting discussion.
One of the guests was Owen from Boots and Sabers who is currently debating the ban with Ingrid.

Oh YEAH!
So I was watching the show and one of the guest, Michael Holt, who is the editor for the Community Journal in Milwaukee, an Afrian American periodical, attended a constituent meeting with a Milwaukee Assemblyperson. It is surprising to see that when he attended the meeting he was in support of the ban but he needed more information. He stated in this discussion that he is in support of Civil Unions. Thats awesome!
I was surprised by Mr. Priebus' argument, basically suggesting that voters won't read beyond the first sentence before blindly submitting their "yes" vote. I like to believe that voters plan to educate themselves more than that.
I believe that many "YES" votes in other states in 2004 were done only after reading their respective versions of our first sentence. However, we've had a long time to educate people in WI about the 2nd sentence and they've had or will have ample time to digest and consider it before voting. In the other states, the groups opposing the bans only had mere months to educate voters, and I suspect many voters didn't even know it was on the ballot.
