Last Night in Milwaukee...

With only 88 days until Election Day we’re really ramping up our door canvass efforts here in Milwaukee. We now have three door canvasses a week, and as we get closer to the election we’ll have even more. Milwaukee is a big city and there are literally thousands and thousands of people who don’t even know this ban is going to be on the ballot.

Last night in our office we had one of our most successful volunteer nights. Below are pictures of Kristi and Raphael—two of our star helpers. They’re on the phone recruiting new and regular volunteers to canvass with us this weekend.

We’re lucky to have a great field staff working full-time, but we could not stand a chance of winning if hundreds of volunteers didn’t pitch their time and energy into the cause.

Now that fall is just around the corner, our supporters are feeling the sense of urgency and are ready to do whatever it takes to win. It's going to take a lot, but if we keep working as hard as we are, and if we keep getting new people join the effort, I have no doubt we will be celebrating victory this November.

I had no idea that this issue was coming up for a vote this election.

Rest assured that I will get out and vote to support the ban.

Health Care Benefits, Right to make medical decisions, pensions. . . these things are reserved for family members only, not those who live together - gay or not.
