"Will you not revive us again that your people may rejoice in you?” Psalms 85:6 NIVWhen I meet with people of faith, we always come back to one point: we must make sure the opposition doesn’t claim the faith community in Wisconsin. Since we started working to defeat the ban, people of faith from all around Wisconsin have been taking bold stands. Soon, they'll have an opportunity to make another bold stand.
That stand is coming in the form of a two-night REVIVAL series in the Milwaukee and Waukesha area. "Fair & Faithful – Voice and Values for a Fair Wisconsin" is a joint effort between Fair Wisconsin and members of the Greater Milwaukee Area faith community.
Why is it bold? Why is it so special? Three things:
1) It’s a revival! Music, preaching, prayer, education, and fellowship. Just like the old tent revivals and so much more.
2) You can’t have a revival without a good preacher and we have two! But not just any preachers, but two awesome Baptist preachers! Rev. Dr. Rolan Womack. Jr., of Progressive Baptist Church, and Rev. Jamie Washam of Underwood Memorial Baptist Church.
3) Because people of faith against the ban are engaging friends and neighbors with a faithful belief that God is coming to revive the church to stand up for the rights of all people!
If you're interested in attending, join in lifting up a faithful voice on Tuesday, August 15th at Divine Word Lutheran Church, 5505 W. Lloyd St in Milwaukee (sign up) and on Thursday, August 17th at First Congregational Church, 815 S Concord Rd. in Oconomowoc (sign up). The revivals start at 7pm both nights.
“After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly!” Acts 4:31 NIV
