The Magic Bullet

One of the first things I did when I got to Milwaukee was put up an office wish list. This way, people who stop into our field office can see what we need and are encouraged donate any extra supplies that they may have lying around. Our wish list has things like computer paper, rubber bands, and food for volunteers.

Nick and Matt wanted me to add the "Magic Bullet" to our wish list. They explained that the Magic Bullet is an all purpose blender that would allow us to make things like smoothies and salsa. Since we practically live in this office, how could I say no to such a useful tool?

Throughout the past few months, volunteers have donated some well-needed supplies, such as tape, highlighters, and staples, but I never expected anyone to actually bring in a magic bullet -- until today.

Last week, two of our star volunteers -- Jenna and Amanda (both students from Alverno College) -- copied down our wishlist so they could bring it back to their dorm to see what they had lying around. Today, they actually came in with a Magic Bullet. But what's even more incredible is that they used their student food-cards to buy food for our volunteers.

Our volunteers have been amazing about helping us, not only with their time but with their stuff; something tells me, however, tha they will benefit greatly from that magic bullet. I hear Nick makes some mean salsa!

How about you bring all that free food up to the Fox Valley?

You should have seen us caring all that stuff to the car! Haha! We had so many people make fat comments! LOL…. All worth it though… Tell Nick that we are gonna have to see how good his salsa is! Amanda worked at Chipotle and thinks hers is better! ; )
Thank you everyone for all the hard work and help you have given us! See you soon!

I was probably one of the few readers who knew what a Magic Bullet was (although I still confuse that with a name of something I heard on the show with Sue Johanson). Anyway, it's great for making homemade cashew or peanut butter.

If you ever catch the infomercial for the Magic Bullet, check out the lady at the counter with the cigarette hanging out of her mouth. She cracks me up.

My favorite part of that ad is "Brocolli?! I hate brocolli!"
