Q: "What Would Jesus Do?"

A: “Get Out The Vote!

In our faithful discussions we have been debating and examining this proposed amendment, but now it’s time to change the tone of our voices. Wisconsin can and will vote NO by bringing every no voter to the polls. That’s GOTV (Get Out The Vote).

Our faithful voices must be accompanied by faithful action. In James, the writer really lays it on the line about how our faith and what we do are tied together.

“What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but do not have works? Can faith save you? If a brother or sister is naked and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace; keep warm and eat your fill’, and yet you do not supply their bodily needs, what is the good of that? So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.” (emphasis mine)
I won’t preach anymore.
We all know what to do. Put our faith in action and Get Out The Vote!

Please don't exploit religion/Jesus in this way.

I too want to win, but not like this. You don't need to play the Jesus endorsement card here to motivate.

Do that when you are sure you are not in mixed company, ok? Jews, non religious, privately religious people probably want to win on the merits, not on the WWJD lameness as a p.r. stunt.

(Just curious: do you have any spiritual preparations in place for what surely would be a huge letdown for a lot of volunteers and other people if the amendment passes? Similar to those feelings people felt when President Bush was re-elected in 2004? Please think about this, and make plans that hopefully won't be needed.

By motivating and encouraging people to invest so much like this -- especially when you bring faith issues into it -- I hope Fair Wisconsin has a plan for comforting and helping these people should we lose. Plans for a month out, staying in touch no matter what. Like I say, a loss under the terms you are framing this in would be massive, and it seems only fair to me to have a plan -- counseling, spirituality whatever -- in case the good faith doesn't pay off for whatever reason. You owe these people that. G_d bless and keep you all safely, now and throughout your lives.

Jesus was pretty clear about sexual perversion.

He would feed you love you and tell you to repent from your evil ways.

You would of course refuse his food and call him and intollerant hater.
